Each August, Monterey Car Week turns the Peninsula into the world's biggest gathering of collector cars. In 2027, it builds to the 76th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, August 15.
The finale: Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
Rare and historic cars line up on the lawns beside the ocean at Pebble Beach for judging, with the Best of Show award at the end of the day. Buy tickets in advance on the official site (https://www.pebblebeachconcours.net/). Pebble Beach is about 13 minutes from El Castell Hotel.
The days before
Car Week traditionally fills the days leading up to the Concours with tours, auctions, gatherings, and vintage racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Each event sets its own dates and tickets, and 2027 schedules are still being announced, so check each official site as you plan.
How to plan your week
- Book your room early. Car Week is the busiest time of the year on the Peninsula.
- Pick your must-see events first, then build the rest of the week around them.
- Traffic on Highway 1, Highway 68, and around Pebble Beach is heavy all week. Start early every day.
